When you work at a bookstore people always ask for your recommendation on books. Unfortunately there are so many books…and so little time. So every couple of weeks I will pick one lucky book to read and review. The books will range in all topics and I am up for suggestions or guest reviews. So if you have a book you have been longing to read but want to know what another thinks…email me at: Ayshen and I will read it first and give you my view. Or if you have a book you just read that you think everyone else should…send me a review!

So sorry on the extremely long time it took me to do another review.

Kathryn Cushman. If you don’t know her name…you should. Unfortunately she is a relatively new writer with only two books out. The first, A Promise to Remember, was so good I went searching for other stuff by her which is how I found out that was her first book. Fortunately for me, she just released her second book,Waiting for Daybreak.

I started reading it on my break…that night I took it home and didn’t stop reading until it was done. The story starts off with a nice dose of ambiguity to it which makes it really intriguing; you can’t wait to find out the back story.

The two main characters are women. Paige Woodward is a woman with a past…that’s all you really know when you start the book…it gives you clues, steers you in the right direction but you never really know until they actually lay it out for you. I loved that…it was realistically mysterious. I love how it portrayed her spiritual life… Clarissa Richardson is a bit different. I have to say I didn’t like Clarissa for 90% of the book…there are moments I want to like her but she infuriated me. She did this as a normal person not some caricature, or mustache twirling villain…so it made her real. I think in life we know someone like Clairssa…and in the end it did make her more understandable.

Of course you have to add a nice little dose of romance. The author does this in such a way that is realistic, and doesn’t overshadow the main premise of the book.

Are you still reading this? Why? Go out and buy this book…now!
